D.V. Livanov

Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (2012–2016)

“The updated “INO Tomsk” Concept is supported by industrial clusters and potent universities. This is the first example when the Federal Government took a decision on comprehensive regional development of innovations. The Ministry of Education and Science will play one of the leading roles in this project. We see our objective in improving the competitiveness of science and education in the Tomsk Region, development of university infrastructure, i.e. campuses, dormitories and social facilities as these are one of the main factors that increase the appeal of universities for the students from other regions of Russia and other countries. It is crucial for us that Tomsk universities should develop and improve their scientific, educational, innovative and international capabilities. Among the 15 universities, participating in the “5/100” Program, there are two from Tomsk – TSU and TPU. The development of these two universities looks favourably as opposed to other participants of the Program”.

Meetings on the implementation of activities stipulated by the “road map” of “INO Tomsk” Concept to establish a local innovative centre in the Tomsk Region that are within the competence of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. March 20, 2015. Tomsk.
