Arkadiy Dvorkovich: The work on INO Tomsk is going as planned despite budget limitations

19 May 2017 16:02

Implementation of INO Tomsk concept is going as planned despite certain budget limitations. Each of the defined clusters is actively implementing projects, Arkadiy Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime-Minister, told journalists.

As a reminder, the updated INO Tomsk concept includes five clusters: Advanced industry, Science and education, Technology innovation and new business, Smart and comfortable city, Business environment. The cost of activities of the updated project will exceed 200 billion rubles by 2020, of which 65% - business investment, 35% - funds from federal and regional budgets. In January 2015, the concept was approved by Prime-Minister Dmitriy Medvedev.

The meeting of the task force on INO Tomsk implementation headed by Acting Governor Sergey Zhvachkin and Vice Prime-Minister Arkadiy Dvorkovich took place this Friday in the building of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk.

Following the meeting, Mr. Dvorkovich reminded that INO Tomsk concept was adopted 2.5 years ago. Significant work has been done to form innovation and industrial clusters.

“Each of the clusters is actively implementing projects. This is true for both the innovation directions and industrial ones. In general, everything is doing fine. Budget limitations have their effect, and certain things go a little slower than we would like to, this is mostly related to infrastructure, but we are solid in achieving everything that we had planned and that we were able to do”, Mr. Dvorkovich told the press.

He noted that the government supports all initiatives through programs. “The Tomsk region is one of priorities for our federal programs. Our nearest plans include maximum activities on the new cluster SMART Technologies Tomsk, including it in the implementation of the National Technology Initiative (NTI), continue the development of infrastructure that is required for implementation of industrial projects”, Vice Prime-Minister noted.

Sergey Zhvachkin, in his turn, noted that during the meeting, interim results of INO Tomsk were summed up; new areas of work were identified. “Everybody needs this program. Tomsk is a part of Russia. By solving issues in Tomsk we resolve issues of our country”, he said.
