Child Science Park to Be Created in Tomsk

Yesterday, June 16th, in the course of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the governor of Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin and Andrey Nikitin, the Chief Executive Officer of “Agency for Strategic Initiatives”, signed the agreement on implementation of a new additional technical education model for kids in the region.

According to the regional administration press office, the new model provides for the creation of a child science park in Tomsk region. Regional authorities will implement this project together with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives with support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation as well as with the participation of industry partners.

“Early June, Advanced Research Foundation opened in Tomsk the first Robotics Center in the country, and at the end of month we will defend Tomsk’s bid to host international robotics competition RoboCup 2018.  We prepare engineers, designers and scientists starting from preschools. And the child science park will be an essential link of this unique system, it will allows us engaging more kids into a high-demand and promising area, will set up boys and girls in life”, - emphasized Sergey Zhvachkin.
