    INO Tomsk project is based on 6 innovation territorial clusters: petrochemical cluster, cluster of nuclear technologies, timber and pharmaceutical clusters, cluster of medical equipment and IT, cluster of wildlife resources, and cluster of hard-to-recover resources.

Governor Opens “Blue-collar Jobs” Championship

Yesterday evening, November 29, Governor of Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin opened the second regional championship “Young Professionals”  (World Skills Russia).

UDI dance team performance in Drama theater and a parade of the participants started off  the opening of the “Manual labor olimpiad” for 113 students of regional colleges and technical schools and - first time this year –for 32 high-school students.

In his welcome speech, Governor Sergey Zhvachkin noted that during the turbulent 1990s prestige of blue collar jobs and trades had been lost.

«However, no production can survive without the hands of fitters, bakers, hair-dressers, welders, brick masons, drywallers, drivers, janitors, - Governor of Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin emphasized at the World Skills Russia - Tomsk opening ceremony. — Today, we aim to revive the prestige of the trades and professional education system in Tomsk region, change the attitude towards blue-collar jobs and create new jobs – hi-tech and high-paying jobs».

Sergey Zhvachkin signed a collage made from the photos of all participants of World Skills Russia 2016 championship.

«The future of the city, region and country is in your hands. The way your life works out largely depends on you», — Tomsk governor told young professionals, wishing them good luck with the championship and with their lives.

This regional stage of World Skills Russia will continue on 10 locations in Tomsk, the major one being Fakel recreational center, and will finish on December, 2.
