It is specified that upon the initiative of “Gazprom Neft Vostok” on March 30th Tomsk region administration has hosted a task meeting dedicated to the issues of HTR reserves cluster development in the framework of the “INO Tomsk” project implementation. The meeting has been attended by the representatives of “Gazprom Neft Vostok”, “Gazprom Neft Research and Development Center”, regional subsurface management office, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tomsk State University, “TomskNIPINeft”, Institute of Petroleum Chemistry of SB of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“We have agreed to create a project office that will permanently work on development of the HTR reserves cluster. We are also drawing up a proposal for the federal center and counting on the support of the states of the companies engaged into this work”, - cited the press service the words of Andrey Antonov, Deputy Governor for economy.
During the meeting, the participants have discussed the experience accumulated by the companies and universities, have talked about the main challenges that subsurface users face when start developing HTR reserves, and put forward their proposals concerning further development and coordination of this focus area.
It’s specified that following the meeting there will be developed a list of issues within the frame of HTR reserves cluster which will further be submitted for discussion at the federal task group headed by the Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich.
“Gazprom Neft Vostok” has a successful experience of employing new technologies in HTR reserves development. At year-end 2015, 10% of all the oil produced by the company falls on HTR reserves and, according to the forecasts, in this year this number will increase up to 15%. But it’s only joint efforts that will allow bringing the work in this area to a whole new level” – cited the Press Service the words of Viktor Misnik, the CEO of “Gazprom Neft Vostok”.
Previously it has been reported that Tomsk region will be a ground to create a pilot range to test technologies for HTR reserves exploration and production. The first well at the Archinsk oil field has been drilled within the framework of the project in May, 2014 by JSC “Gazprom Neft Vostok”. In the future, the works will be delivered at the open acreage – Yeleysky.
