The Boiling point to open next week in Tomsk

On November 28 and 29, Tomsk will witness the opening program of the Boiling point, a venue where project leaders in innovation, business, industry and social entrepreneurship can meet.

It was the initiative of the Governor, Sergey Zhvachkin and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to open the Boiling point in Tomsk. The opening program which will last for two days will be attended by the management of ASI, authorities, universities and companies that participate in industrial and innovation clusters, start-up leaders, members of public organizations, culture unions and experts.

The first day, November 28, will see the opening ceremony of the Boiling point, a plenary session “How to break out of a rut? New styles and business models”. Other events of the first day will include a lecture by Dmitriy Peskov, Director of ASI’s Young Professionals, open microphone presentation of projects and initiatives by Tomsk communities, discussions, lectures and workshops on NTI (National Technology Initiative), development of digital economy, new education models, promotion of social initiatives. The venue will host an art exhibit, and the conference hall will be the stage for lecture “Art and science: Idea X” by artist Dmitriy Bulatov.

On the second day, the participants of round table discussions and foresight sessions in the Boiling point will discuss technologies of the future, personnel assurance of the new economy, talent identification and support, implementation of social projects. Several events will focus on the ecosystem and community development of a smart city. At the end of the day, the participants will sum up their discussions and tell about the future plans for the Tomsk Boiling point.

The Boiling point is a joint project of ASI, Tomsk authorities, business, universities, public and social organizations for constructive communication of team leaders, participation in educational programs, consultations with the leading experts in science, technology, social practice and art. It will provide a venue for meetings, negotiations, technology sessions, launch of private and public initiatives aimed at the solution of the region’s challenges.

Up to 250 people will be able to work simultaneously in the area of around 600 square meters. The venue has a transformable conference-hall that can be used as a cinema with stereo sound, a hall for a round table discussion, a meeting room, and a coworking area. The Boiling point has equipment for teleconference and simultaneous interpretation. One could use a library here, take some rest at the coffee bar or a comfortable rest area.
