The Tomsk Region Takes Part in the New Development Stage of Local Innovative Clusters

Today the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade held the first round of critical reviews of projects for the leading clusters of global investment appeal. The preliminary stage of critical reviews involved 17 regions.

Andrey Antonov, Deputy Governor of the Tomsk Region presented the next development stage for the local innovative cluster “Pharmacy, medical equipment and IT in the Tomsk Region”.

The new development stage of the cluster within the frameworks of “INO Tomsk” Concept is related to the necessity of increasing the global awareness about the cluster and its investment appeal. It was proposed to stake on edgy export projects of technology companies. For that, highly profitable niches of fast-growing markets were identified.

The development model of the new cluster is based on the established practice of sustainable cooperation of Tomsk companies, universities and scientific organizations, supported by the infrastructure of the Innovation type Special Economic Zone “Tomsk” stipulating the use of the benefits related to the implementation of the “INO Tomsk” Concept, National technology initiative and “5-100” – the project aimed at boosting the international competitiveness of universities.
